Diamond Carnival Band Rolls Out Fit Frenzy 2.0

One of Carnival Calabar’s leading brands, Diamond Carnival Band has rolled out her second edition of Fit Frenzy, a walk out session, Saturday 14 September, 2024 in Calabar, Cross River State Capital. 

The event codenamed, ‘Fit Frenzy’ aims to promote healthy living, bonding among team members and also conformation to headcounts specification as stipulated by the Cross River State Carnival Commission.

Crème de la crème of Band Officials, revelers including Government Officials who converged at the famous 11/11 Millennium Park, muster point were in high spirit for the coveted Carnival billed for 28 December, 2024.

In the words of Hon. Anderson, Band Leader, Fit Frenzy has come to spice up activities in preparation for the Carnival Calabar and by extension add value to the health of Cross Riverians, a demographic composition of Band Membership. In his context,

“This is our second outing for Fit Frenzy to keep up the energy and the vibes towards our first, second and third dry runs and of course for the biggest street party in Africa. This event affords us the opportunity to interact and walk out our body for the good of our health and unity of Diamond Band Carnival.

“We are here with the Executive Secretary of the Cross River State Carnival Commission, Mr. Austin Cobham to flag off today’s outing. Stay closed to Diamond Band Carnival for updates on Carnival Calabar,” he enthused.

While declaring the fitness walkout open, Mr. Austin Cobham, Executive Secretary, Cross River State Carnival Commission eulogized Diamond Carnival Band for conceiving idea of the Fit Frenzy as it promotes sportsmanship among players, projects Brand identity and highly therapeutic for the human body. 

He emphasized the need for other competing Bands to imbibe the culture of health promotion activities for the good of humanity.

“I want to commend Diamond Band for being a pacesetter in this body fitness exercise. Soon, we will be giving you a signal to come for all Bands’ fitness galore, which is an adaptation of Diamond Band Fit Frenzy. 

“When you find something that is good, copy it and give credit to the original owners so that you will not kill ingenuity. 

“I want to thank Diamond Band leadership for this initiative because it is very good. One of the things this exercise does is that it exposes unknown ailments in the body for early medical attention. For instance, some people could be asthmatic without knowing. With exercises like these, you can identify and fight back perceived ailments. You have the best of my assurances that together, we can sustain this novel initiative.

“The real passion flows during the unusual, and this morning is unusual because it is raining and you are outside. I want to commend your enthusiasm and reassure you that Carnival itself is being rejig. 

“As we rejig the Carnival, I want to employ you to open your eyes wide. This is because they are scenes beyond the sight so that we do not all sit down and wait for Band Leaders and Government. Continuing he said they are lots member can do in earning a meaningful living from Carnival without depending on Band Leaders and government. He says

“There are a lot of things that you could be of better value to the Band and the Carnival Commission that will attract finances to yourselves. Take your eyes deep to see beyond just dancing for the Carnival,” he posited.

The event was climaxed by gifting, merriment, chit-chats, dances and bodily exercise as participants expressed satisfaction for the gathering despite early morning showers.

From empirical evidences, Diamond Carnival Band is poised to pull stunts during the event given her array of behind the scene activities for Carnival Calabar 2024 with the theme, ‘Our Shared Prosperity’ which promises to be engaging, educative, entertaining and informative.

Recall that since her advent about three years ago into the Carnival scene, Diamond Band has left no stone unturned in changing the narrative with her detailed scripting, spectacular costumes and aesthetical choreography to the admiration of spectators.
