There was sunset at dawn in Cross River State Wednesday following tragic demise of Hon. Abubakar Robert Ewa, State Commissioner for Culture, Arts and Tourism.

His demise though highly traumatic occurred after brief illness.

According to Government House sources that pleaded anonymity, the paramount ruler of Boki politics as fondly called attended the maiden 2025 State Executive Council Meeting held 8 January, 2025 before leaving midway do to minor health concern.

Parliamentvanguard.com gathered that the diseased passed on at Arobah hospital, a private medical facility in Calabar having gone for medical examination.

As at the time of filing this report, government officials and general populace are thrown into mourning an illustrious personality whose dedication to both private and public life have no equals.

The social media is not left out of the mourning fever with legion of eulogies and cathartic empathy for the fallen hero.

Until his death, Hon. Abubakar Robert Ewa has served in diverse capacities as a time Boki Council Secretary, Council Chairman, Community Relations Officer to the state government, Senior Special Adviser to the governor on anti-deforestation and currently Commissioner for Culture Arts and Tourism, Hon. Abubaker Robert Ewa was a political statistician, traditional title holder, business tycoon and Christian of the Roman Catholic faith.

His legacy of human capital development speaks volume propelling ocean of tears mourning his exit.

Late Ewa hails from Boki Local Government and was married to illustrious Mrs. Ijeoma Abubaker Ewa with their union blessed with promising children.

His death though regrettably unbelievable serves as constant reminder of the mortality of man and the route to eternity awaiting all creatures.

Within the period of his existence, Hon. Abubaker Ewa traversed the political landscape of Boki like a Colossus with spread wings of an octopus.

He was a beckon of hope to the teeming populace, bundle of joy to Boki and paragon integrity to the body of Christ.

He would be greatly missed by friends and family too numerous to mention.

His unblemished and lifestyle reflect his love for human and fear of God, in whom he delighted.
