C’River Youths To Build Careers Outside Politics-Hon Bassey 

The Executive Chairman of Akpabuyo local government area, Hon. Effiong Bassey Effiom has admonished youths of Cross River State to build viable careers even while monitoring political developments, as politics is a call to service.

He made this assertion during a courtesy visit on him by organizers of the much anticipated Cross River State Political Summit.

Hon. Bassey Effiom noted that while government policies has consequential effects on almost every facet of human endeavors, competency deduced from career progression remains surest path to human capital development with a cascaded impact on society.

The Executive Chairman also advocated for restoration of social orders against the growing trends of ‘get rich quick’ syndrome reflective in increased cybercrimes, kidnapping for ransom, ritual killings among other social vices eroding values, with both short and long term implications on the nation.

The Akpabuyo Council boss urged organizers of the summit to seize the occasion to reinvigorate family values that defines traditional African aesthetics.

While pledging unalloyed support for the Summit, he urged that the gathering be a fertile ground for cross-fertilization of ideas in line with His Excellency, Sen. Prince Bassey Edet Otu’s developmental blueprint for the state as christined in his ‘People First’ mantra.

Meanwhile, Comr. Ejeh Peter, the state Coordinator and Prince Atibile Williams, Boki local government area Coordinator for the Summit in their opening remarks on behalf of the delegation noted that the forthcoming event serves as breeding ground for emerging leaders in the state to learn the ropes of leadership with a view to changing the sociopolitical and economic trajectory of Cross River State, leveraging on the vast youth demography.

These speakers underscored the importance of mentorship with reciprocal effects on the people’s paradise state.

Assuredly, this historic Summit billed for 29 May, 2025 promises to be engaging, inspiring and a spring board for mental emancipation and improved spirit of enterprise amongst the teeming youths.

As the clock ticks-tack, all hands are on deck in building a more egalitarian Cross River State through this noble project codenamed, Cross River State Political Summit.
