Abia Governor Otti Reshuffles Cabinet, Splits Ministries in Major Overhaul

In a bold move to streamline the state’s bureaucracy and enhance service delivery, the Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti, has carried out a major cabinet reshuffle, splitting several ministries and creating new ones.

The key highlights of the cabinet reshuffle include:

Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security: This ministry has been split into two separate entities – the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Food Security.

Ministry of Trade, Investment and Commerce: This ministry has been divided into the Ministry of Trade and Investment and the Ministry of Commerce.

Ministry of Works and Transport: This ministry has been split into the Ministry of Works and the Ministry of Transport.

New Ministries Created: The governor has also created two new ministries – the Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) Development, and the Ministry of Public Utilities.

The move is seen as a strategic decision by Governor Otti to create more focused and efficient government agencies that can better address the specific needs of the state. By splitting some ministries, the governor aims to streamline the state’s bureaucracy and improve service delivery to the people of Abia.
