In a bid to correct the abnormally associated with environmental degradation, the Cross River State Government is piloting credible initiatives including tree planting exercises and green energy revolution.

The Governor’s aide emphasized the premium placed on environmental regeneration under this administration underscoring the importance of a balanced climate which fosters biodiversity activities.

Hon. Daniel highlighted some of the practical milestones undertaken thus far to include partnerships with critical stakeholders, forests sustainability advocacies, tree planting strides epitomized by over five million seedlings nurtured in Akpabuyo, Forestry Commission premises among other locations across the state and sustainable green energy practices in line with international best practices.

The state government while recognizing the improved revenue generation indexes, job creation opportunities among other byproducts accrued to timber legalization emphasized on selective logging which targets trees too old to absorb carbon dioxide.

The workaholic department on Timber Control in the state calls for media synergy in disseminating timely information while holding players in the timber sector accountable on improved environment.
