Social media was abuzz with shock and intrigue after Sheikha Mahra bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, daughter of Dubai’s ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, made a dramatic announcement of her divorce from Sheikh Mana bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum via a straightforward Instagram post.

Their engagement, initially confirmed by the Arabian Royal Agency in March the previous year, was later endorsed by Sheikh Mana’s father in an official poem. The couple married in May 2023, celebrating with an extravagant reception in Dubai a month later, where Sheikha Mahra dazzled in a stunning white embroidered ballgown by Dubai-based designer Ezra Couture.

This surprising announcement comes merely two months after the birth of their daughter. Sheikha Mahra had joyfully shared news of her pregnancy on October 18, 2023, alongside an ultrasound photo captioned, “Just the three of us.”

In February, she marked her 30th birthday with a pink-themed gender reveal, revealing their anticipation of a baby girl.

The princess announced the birth of their daughter on May 9, sharing a heartfelt Instagram post featuring the newborn’s tiny hand. On June 4, she posted a cozy selfie with her daughter, captioned “Just the two of us.”

As of now, Dubai ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who also serves as the vice president and prime minister of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), has not publicly addressed his daughter’s declaration.
