Gbenga Adeoti’s ‘Baby Factory’ Takes Top Honor for Best Film Addressing Human Trafficking and Migration.

In an Instagram update, Adeoti shared his mixed feelings about the film’s release, revealing his hesitation to make it public despite its success at various festivals. In his words:

I’ve been quite hesitant about releasing Baby Factory since 2022, but I’m thrilled it has earned the accolade for Best Film on Human Trafficking and Migration at AFFIF2024. Congratulations to all the nominees and the amazing Baby Factory team.

An EbonyLife Creative Academy alumnus and the founder of Filmjoint, Adeoti is a versatile talent in film, with roles ranging from screenwriter to cinematographer. His previous works include Bruised, If Only, and Sidi.

Written by Benita Imohimoh, Baby Factory features performances by Mercy Aghedo, Onaopemipo Olatunde, Victoria Odoyi, Oluwabunmi Awolowo, Crystal Claudius, and Ezekiel Abayomi.

The film explores the dark realities of human trafficking in Nigeria, focusing on young women forced into a cycle of exploitation.
