NUJ Congratulates Dr Bette Edu On Her Grand Ambassadorial Award.
The Nigeria Union of Journalism Cross River State Council has extended heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Bette Edu, the former minister of Humanitarian Affairs, on her well-deserved grand award as ambassador and legacy face of the University of Calabar and her induction into the university hall of fame.
This was revealed in a Press release signed by the Cross River State Council NUJ Chairman, Archibong Bassey, following the honor bestowed on Dr. Bette at the university’s 50th anniversary celebration.
The NUJ Chairman noted that the award is a testament to her resilience and commitment to improving good leadership and service to humanity.
” This honour bestowed on her during UNICAL’s 50th-anniversary celebration is a testament to her unwavering commitment to excellence, leadership, and service to humanity.” Dr. Edu has continued to distinguish herself as a trailblazer in public service, and her contribution to healthcare, governance, and humanitarian efforts has brought immense pride to Cross River State and Nigeria at large.

Archibong also commended her efforts in giving back to society, as demonstrated in her donations toward the completion and equipping of the University’s new medical center. She further buttressed her confidence that the former minister is sure to reach greater heights with such exhibitions.
“We particularly commend her giving back, as demonstrated by her pledge — On behalf of the class of 2009 medical school — to contribute 15 Million towards the completion and equipping of the new medical center.
“Dr Edu’s dedication to progress and nation-building is truly inspiring, and we have no doubt that she will continue to be a shining example of integrity, service, and leadership,” Archibong noted.
