Nigerian singer Portable has sparked controversy with his latest comments on the upcoming #EndBadGovernance protest scheduled for August 1-10, 2024. In a fiery social media video, Portable declares he won’t be participating, asserting, “The protest is for the poor. I’m rich now!”

Reflecting on his past involvement in the 2020 #EndSARS protests, Portable says his financial status has shifted his perspective. “Back then, I was broke and thought like the poor,” he explains.

“Now that I’m financially secure, I think like the wealthy.” He further emphasizes his point by noting that billionaires like Aliko Dangote and Femi Otedola don’t participate in protests, suggesting that financial success changes one’s view on such matters.

Portable, who rose to fame with his hit single ‘Zazoo Zeh,’ is drawing attention with his bold stance, contrasting his current comfort with his earlier activism.
