Retrieve Memorandum On Proposed Ogoja State Or Face Legal Actions, Hon Bette Dare’s Coveners

“I have watched with great amazement the broad smiles and merry hearts from Constituents of old Ogoja province following progress reports on proposed Ogoja State creation by the National Assembly Committee on Constitution Review.
This initiative is both timely, socioeconomically and politically accurate in establishing a legal framework for broadened scope of governance in Nigeria.
“Expectations are high on potentials of Ogoja State driving a new social order in complementing status of Ogoja as Nigeria’s oldest province.
When enacted into law, the state hoped to be derived from Central and Northern Senatorial Districts of Cross River would foster a climate of development and sociocultural cohesion among member local governments.
“However, it is pertinent to interrogate some missteps capable of killing idea of the state on arrival.
This is predicated on perceived imbalance and marginalization perpetrated by some evil gladiators under the smokescreen of advocacy.
Their actions are typical of hearing the voice of Jacob with the hand of Esau at work.
In other words, by day, they pretend to represent interest of all and sundry under the canopy of Ogoja State. At night, they are nepotistic, autocratic, tribalistic and alien to promoting shared vision, prosperity and common identity.
“Their modus operandi is to seize proposed Ogoja State as platform to further their narcissistic agendas with attendant mayhem on Boki local government area, a Centripetal force to sustainability of the envisioned state.
Despite her plump cadre as one of the largest LGAs in Cross River State and South-South Nigeria, Boki is proposed to be splitted into two, comprising Western and Eastern Boki against smaller local government areas like Etung, Bekwara, Abi, Ogoja among others with five, four, three and two additional councils respectively, according to speculated documents submitted to the Green Chambers.
“For avoidance of doubt, the alleged Memorandum On Proposed Ogoja State in circulation assumed to have been forwarded to the House of Representatives Committee on Constitution Review as Chaired by Deputy Speaker, RT. Hon. Benjamin Kalu does not represent my interest as an individual nor Boki nation.
As proverbial elders who will not seat down and watch a she goat die of labour pains, I on behalf of my constituents call for immediate withdrawal of said documents for needed amendments to be effected with interest of all parties protected.
“Failure to comply to this all important demand would be met with stiff opposition from Boki stakeholders that may snowball into early abortion of Ogoja State arising from looming legal litigations.”
